Paris in a nutshell is musky, smelly and simply fascinating.
There is a plethora of materialism in this city.
Too much has been written about the sights but i choose to write still about the feelings they evoke.
People….
Weird, colorful, vibrant.
Weird cause, i saw a young pleasant looking man BRUSH his TEETH in the TRAIN!OMG.
There are alot of colored people which left me people watching most of the time. Its sad to see that colored people seem to be type casted still: Blacks work as secruity guards and seem to hold menial jobs, while asians mend the CD,LV counters and the whites…. i dun know…The country is definitely more diverse than munich but in terms of being a fashion hub, it loses hands down to the people in Munich.
The pace of life is slighty faster than in singapore and overall the people look rushed, rugged even tired.
Attractions…..
The first night was spent in the airport. I know it sounds crazy but we didnt want to take the risk of taking a train to the centre only to find no spare rooms. Moreover, we needed to have 16 euros in COINS because the machines didnt accept any of our credit cards. We called the airport metro chairs our refuge for the night and it was horrible. Dont try it. The place was freezing and some other overnighters inluding both of us were grouped together. Safety in numbers right…. Oh, then along came this phillipino mother and daughter pair who had lost their luggage taking British Airways and they chatted us up. Man they were so damn talkative. They left after 2 hours of wasting my listening time…apparently the loss of luggage happens alot to ppl taking this airline…

We stayed till 6 am and took the second train out to our hotel in the centre of Paris. What a big fat relieve.
The next day, we walked around Champs Elysees and naturally i pulled him into Sephora with me. Its overhyped man. Alot of boring brands can be found and common ones too. I think they dont carry alot of brands that the American Sephora stores carry such as Dr Murad,Peter Thomas Roth. No ANNA SUI in the store as well. PUkes. Shu Uemura was overpriced and even with a 15 % deduction in VAT, the price is still not competitive.
There was this asian promoter as the store and when she spoke french i almost burst out laughing. Heres what she said….
French asian lady: “This givenchy perfume is made of grass…. It is irresistible….you can put it in your toilet because the box is like a diamond.Open and close like dis… Only in sephora…. you can just turn around and i am here…okay bye. ” (all in the typical french speaking english accent) LEMAS eyes were popping out of his socket and i was bitting my tongue to prevent from laughing.
I like to complain but theres obviously some perks to Sephora. They are generous with their samples and i helped myself to shiesedo future eye cream, elizabeth arden ceramide cream spf 15, sisley sunblock, Dr brandt line cream. Huk huk huk.. Their house brand is affordable and they have a large range of cosmetics.

We saw Dior, Hermes, blah blah blah and frankly, it was a bit boring.
Friday we visited The Lourve. It is said that if a person were to take a minute each and look at each and every artifect in that building, they would need months to look through everything in there. Personally i think that the Lourve is a must see Museum. I am not cultured but the paintings and scultptures were beautiful. Hmm..i remember alot of naked male sculptures but it was not that “impressive”…. huk huk… The Asian section was incredibly boring. While the Greek side was more interesting.

The best was Mona lisa’s section. Why? Cause we spent our time trying to get a picture of her and trying our very best to avoid being smacked off by the securtity guards.

He nudged me twice to keep my camera therefore i only managed to take 2 shots of her. They’re very blur because of all the morons scrambling to the front and blocking my view.
Whatever it is, sneaking photographs was pretty fun.
We reached the Eiffel tower at night and it was stunning. Looking up from the base of it, through the hole in the middle made me queasy! But it was beautiful from afair and up close with the white lights on. People who have the guts to go up are truly gutsy and are crazy casuse the queue is a bitch..

See the shot below? It was so funny. Mas asked me to stand on the bench so i could get this shot. All the tourist started copying. I took photos for evidence. This one shows them sitting down but there were other copy cats standing at the same bench as us!

The River Seine was georgeous. Loved walking along the sides to admire the side painting shops and stare at all the crazy people absorbing UVA and UVB rays.

Look the crazy police dont walk along the seine river, they rollar blade.MY gosh, totally old school.
There was this beautiful stretch of park along the Notre dame with such beautiful flowering trees and a cosily tucked away park .People just lazed around and slept on the benches.

Ah… LeMas was great at manuvering the metro and we got around without a glitch. Its way cheaper and easier to get around. But be warned. Its SMELLY. ITs STINKY. ITS MUSKY. ITS FUNKY.
Ah, we visited the Moulin Rouge just to get a glimpse of Paris own Red light district. Wow. Its full of sex shops. A whole stretch of shops to watch XXX, shops with large assortments of you know what, peep shows and all..

Last but not least, i needed some form of memorabilia from this place..
And so… the lure of Louis Vuitton seemed like a pretty good take away.It was full of nothing but ASIANS! you know black colored hair people like myself ? The LV booth was mended by ASIANS staff and customers. It was like a wet market and i was part of it.. shame on me.. hahahaha… I walked in and out the first day of the Galaries Lafayette LV store empty handed and totally undecided only to return the second day.
Voila

You get the picture.
